Not sure if it is national.

This uses e-ink technology (kindle) and can be rooted.

Obviously you wouldn't use it to play games but it has a touch screen and it is the pinch kind to make things larger/smaller (the kindle does not) and you can use apps to read kindle files, play pandora, browse the web.
It also has a microsd slot so you can load up the books.

No big deal except that in my last building, all the neighbors talked to each other so it wasn't ever awkward, but in this building, people refuse to say hello. Well, this happened to be a fairly attractive, nice looking girl so I said hi. She said nothing and started walking up the stairs.

There's no elevator.

So, I start up the stairs behind her only to notice she's wearing a really short dress. For those who helped me move in, you know that that's awkward because the stairs sort of switchback, so all I would have had to do was look up for an eyeful of upskirt.

Basically, what followed was the weirdest, most awkward, most clumsy walk up two flights of stairs in my life, but I was lost as to how to not make that situation suck. I have no doubt she felt I was going to rape her.
