Does anyone happen to have a NES controller laying around? If so, could I borrow it for a spell? I want to knit a blanket like one, but I want it to be to scale and so need a controller to measure.

What do you say? Any real Hard Core Old School gamers out there willing to give up an old controller for a month?

**Public service announcement**

So I did a short sale on my second house earlier this year because I had no job, couldn't find anyone to rent the place and I was broke.

My credit score was 720 before the short sale.

I just checked it yesterday and it is 666. I was pleasantly surprised because I thought it was going to be totally devastated. Don't get me wrong, it is a low down dirty fucking shame that at my age, I don't have a score in the 700s but shit happens.

It was a terrible and embarrassing experience but I got through it. If this ever happens to you, all you can do is get through it. It's not going to kill you so don't kill yourself... it is just a house.

I still have credit cards. They did lower my limit and jack my interest rate up but I try to keep a balance of like $100 - $150 every month so my history shows I use it and pay on time.

The only real bummer about losing the other house is that I wanted to keep it and eventually sell it when my son was going to college to help pay for his school but from what I see, he is state college material so we will be able to swing it.

Other than that, nothing has changed. So if you happen to get in this situation, know that you are not alone and you will be fine. You will feel like it's the end of the world but it isn't even close.

Hiya friends! So, Carson and I need to figure out a way to get a mattress from Oakland (at Brooke's Dad's house) to Monterey. My back-up plan is to rent a truck and drive up there myself, but if anyone happens to be driving down from the bay area anytime in the next couple of weeks, with the means to fit a squishy King Size mattress in/on their vehicle, we would be happier to pay you instead of the rental car company.

It's a Keetsa mattress, so it squishes like memory foam, but it has already been let out of the box so it is in its full king-size glory.

How can you get windows 7 to use an unsigned driver? Miss Moe is receiving this error:

"A recently installed program tried to install an unsigned driver, this version of windows requires all drivers to have a valid digital signature, the driver is unavailable and the program that uses this driver might not work correctly. uninstall the program or device that uses this driver and check the publisher's support website to get a digitally signed drive"

A little back story- I went camping last weekend, and my buddy Travis brought out his scale sized RC crawler. It looks like this: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...I=LXYCG7**&P=Z

It seriously felt just like taking my jeep rock crawling. It was weighted perfectly, and even had memory foam in the tires to simulate having like 10 psi in the tires. It's neato. Needless to say, there's a 90% chance I will have purchased one by next weekend.

So Pat was out there with us and mentioned how the real challenge should be to have some sort of camera in the driver's seat, and have to drive it via a screen from the driver's POV.

That got my wheels turning. Installing a wireless camera and mounting it on a servo inside the body would actually be pretty much a no brainer. In fact, I've already found an RC car specific camera

I started thinking though- when I four wheel in real life, I spend a lot of time also looking out the sides of the vehicle as well as behind me, and wouldn't it be rad to have a natural feel for that rather than a toggle switch?

Take the lcd glasses, attach two ir lights to each side, take a wii remote, pair it to a laptop and then modify this dude's software to send commands to the RC servo rather than drawing something back to the screen.

So, who thinks they can take that dude's code and make it talk to servos? Hmmm, where could I possibly find people with experience with something like that??

I think there's enough RC dorks out there that an enterprising person could even package the whole thing up and sell it as a kit for a few hundred a pop.

So I get a call today from a friend who is getting his house foreclosed on this Tuesday.

He wants money that I know I will never see if I "loan" it to him.

He has almost to the penny exactly what his mortgage cost every month in income. Unfortunately, life isn't just mortgage so he is fucked.

Any ideas on how to tell him no? He knows I have the cash but I know that I till give it to him and he will end up losing his house after a few months anyway.

This really sucks and I am bummed that he put me in this position but I know he is desperate... otherwise he wouldn't ask.
